Public Safety

As the brother of a police officer, I’ve seen first hand the dedication that our men and women in blue show while serving the public. As a community advocate, I also understand our neighborhood leaders’ desire to see positive relationships with fire, police and EMS, and quick response to public safety issues in our communities. As your councilman, I will be an advocate for District 4 with the city administration and the public safety community to continue to ensure our neighborhoods stay safe.

  • As contract negotiations approach, I will support and advocate for an increase of salary for our officers. We must make officers’ pay comparable to other boroughs, municipalities, and districts where we often find that our highly trained and skilled officers leave the force because of better pay opportunities.

  • I will make sure that we work to bring community beat cops back to our Main Streets and neighborhoods. I want to prioritize better communication and relationships with our neighborhood officers so that families in our district are safe.

  • I will increase manpower of our Police and Fire forces, to ensure our staffing levels are where they need to be. I will work to develop legislation and offer resources to ensure that our Public Safety personnel continues to be the best trained, technologically advanced, and greatest asset to our communities.
